I recently had the opportunity to chat with Max Blumenthal, a journalist unafraid to confront the powers that be, especially the Zionist ones. He is the founder of The Grayzone, an independent news outlet that delves into stories the mainstream media avoids.

Max’s work covers US foreign policy to geopolitics such as Israel bombing Gaza.

What makes him an enemy of the establishment is that he dissects the underlying agendas behind all of it.

In our podcast, Max said that the mainstream media acts as a megaphone for governmental and corporate interests.

He isn’t wrong, making the point that journalism has shifted from informing the public to manipulating perceptions and driving agendas.

The role of the press should be to hold power to account, not to serve as its cheerleader.

The media cries wolf

He emphasised the crucial role of independent media in today’s woke world.

A question I often encounter is: ‘Yes, but who do you trust?‘ My answer is that we need to apply discernment and put more faith in those with skin in the game. In other words, those with more to lose are more likely to be trustworthy.

Of course, challenging the establishment isn’t without risks. Max has faced censorship attempts, smear campaigns, and even threats to his safety. Yet, he remains undeterred.

Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed; everything else is public relations.

Max believes that an informed public is the cornerstone of a functioning democracy.

Again, he isn’t wrong.

The real pandemic was mass media

When people are equipped with the truth, he argues, they can make decisions that genuinely reflect their interests. Without critical journalism, society becomes vulnerable to manipulation and control.
