UK Column is an independent news outlet established in 2006 by Brian Gerrish. It operates without corporate financial support or external investment, relying solely on contributions from viewers, listeners and readers through memberships and donations.
Should you trust UK Column?
No.
And that’s according to their website.
Why should I trust the UK Column?
UK Column
Put simply, you shouldn’t. The question of whether or not to trust a news organisation is a false choice.
The idea of trusting a news source is a blatant manipulation, pushed by governments, establishment media and so-called ‘fact-checkers’. After all, just look at the ‘trust the science’ trope.
Science shouldn’t be trusted.
Experts shouldn’t be trusted.

Why would anybody trust the science?
Why would anybody trust the experts (whatever those are). It’s a dangerous idea. After all, what if they get it wrong?
Getting it wrong
Historically, scientists have got it spectacularly wrong.
- Lobotomies: In the mid-20th century, lobotomies were hailed as a miracle cure for mental illness.
- Thalidomide: In the late 1950s and early 1960s, thalidomide was dished out to pregnant women for morning sickness. The result? Thousands of babies born with birth defects.
- Eugenics: From the late 19th to early 20th century, the eugenics movement pushed for breeding out ‘undesirable’ traits. This led to forced sterilisation. And, no, it didn’t end. In fact, it’s growing. Bill Gates and Klaus Schwab are eugenicists. In fact, the UN and WEF support depopulation.
- Lead poisoning: For most of the 20th century, lead was added to petrol and paint, poisoning countless people, especially children. The effects? Cognitive and developmental damage.
- Smoking: For much of the 20th century, scientists and doctors endorsed smoking, claiming it was harmless or even beneficial.
- Saturated fat: In the mid-20th century, saturated fat was demonised, blamed for heart disease. This led to a shift towards low-fat, high-sugar diets, triggering obesity and diabetes.
Imagine being someone who trusted the experts, only to end up injured or dead.
Pavlov’s dog
The piece referenced in my conversation with Brian is about us all being Pavlov’s dogs.
Pavlov’s Dog is an experiment in classical conditioning, a type of learning in which a neutral stimulus is paired with a stimulus that naturally produces a response, until the neutral stimulus alone produces the response.

In Pavlov’s experiment, dogs were conditioned to salivate in response to a bell.
In society, individuals can be conditioned to respond to certain stimuli or triggers, which can occur through advertising, propaganda, or societal norms. Media plays a pivotal role in conditioning individuals, from television, films, social media, news outlets, and advertising all shaping our understanding of the world.
Patrick Fagan refers to some of it as nudging.
Groupthink is harmful
Groupthink can limit critical thinking and independent judgment, leading to the suppression of dissenting views.

Consider vaccines and the cult-like way in which establishment normies promote and defend them. Mention that you didn’t get the Covid jab (which has killed millions) and observe the Pavlovian response that is almost always triggered.
It’s as if Pavlov’s dogs are everywhere.
