I read The Case For Trump by Victor Davis Hanson and invited him onto my podcast.
Victor Davis Hanson is an American commentator, classicist and military historian. He has written on warfare and contemporary politics for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Review, The Washington Times and more.
He has received a pile of awards.
Quick bio
Everybody knows this already, but Donald Trump, born in 1946, is an American businessman and former President of the United States of America.
He grew up in a wealthy family, earned a degree in economics and worked for his father’s real estate company.
In 2016, Trump ran as the Republican candidate for president, which is the underlying theme of Victor’s book.
Despite being considered an outsider, he defeated all Republican candidates, defied the media and beat Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton today is more likely to win in a landslide that would not only have an impact on this race but realign the country politically to some extent, then Trump is to win at all.
Mark Halperin, Bloomberg
Pretty much all of the mainstream media predicted a Clinton landslide.
And they all got it wrong wrong because they’re all disconnected from reality.
Conversation
Typing this now, in 2024, my views on Trump have changed since the podcast four years ago.
I still kinda like him, but I am not keen on his neocon, Zionist and vaccine nonsense. Plus, it’s now obvious to me that the president doesn’t run the show and is little more than an actor on a stage. The Democrats and Republicans are largely identical and, as such, an illusion of choice.

He [Donald Trump] is the bravest person I’ve ever met in politics.
