Germ theory is the accepted explanation for many diseases, stating that microorganisms, known as ‘pathogens’ or ‘germs,’ cause disease. Diseases caused by pathogens are called ‘infectious diseases.’

Better lifestyle

The medical establishment promotes the idea that germs cause disease, leading to over-prescription of drugs and neglect of more natural, effective treatments.

Their book presents plenty of supporting evidence.

For example, the rate of chronic disease has skyrocketed in recent decades. Studies show that many common diseases, like cancer and heart disease, are actually caused by lifestyle factors such as diet, stress and lack of exercise.

The best way to prevent and treat disease is to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

  • We all have unique internal environments.
  • Our bodies are home to trillions of microorganisms living in harmony.
  • Focus on the cause rather than the symptoms.

The last bit is what changed my mindset a few years ago.

Treat the cause.

For too long, we’ve been conditioned to ignore the cause and treat the symptoms instead. The entire pharmaceutical industry is based on this.

For example, taking a headache pill is treating the symptoms. Can you remember when last did a doctor chatted to you about figuring out the cause(s) of the headache?

It’s always, ‘take two painkillers and call me in the morning.’

Eat healthier. Lift weights. Manage stress levels. Avoid conventional medical treatments like most over-the-counter drugs and some surgeries, as they can often do more harm than good.

It’s really obvious: the healthier you are, the healthier you are.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.
